Fresh vegetables all year round - cucumber Courage F1, a description of the king among hybrids
A special place among varietal cucumbers is occupied by self-pollinated early species with high productivity and stable character. It is to them that the cucumber Courage F1 belongs, the description of which should start with the versatility of the hybrid. This applies to both the cultivation and use of the fruits of this excellent by all standards variety. It will bear fruit in open ground beds, in a greenhouse, and even in pots on a windowsill. At the same time, it is resistant to diseases, ripens quickly and will delight you with sweet cucumbers, ideal for preservation. For summer residents, this is a real find.
Botanical characteristics of the variety
The bush itself is medium-sized, it does not branch too much. But it is indeterminate - its main stem grows all summer. At this rate, by August, its length can reach almost 4 m. The root system of plants is well developed, and by 1 sq. m. up to 3 bushes can grow freely.
The variety can be called super early. From the emergence of shoots to the ripening of the first fruits, only 35 days pass. Flowering in the bouquet-type Courage - in the axils of the leaves and nodes of the stems, bundles of ovary are formed. One plant can ripen up to 3 dozen cucumbers at a time.
Another important advantage of the variety is resistance to powdery mildew, root rot and cucumber mosaic.
Cucumber Courage F1 - description of yield and taste
The hybrid shows the highest yield in a greenhouse. There from 1 sq. m. you can remove up to 50 kg of fruit. In the open field, these indicators are 2 times lower, which is also not bad.
The cucumbers are beautiful and small:
- weighing a maximum of 140 g;
- on the central stem, the fruits are slightly longer - 16 cm, on the lateral ones - about 13 cm with a diameter of 4.5 cm;
- dark green;
- correct cylindrical shape;
- with barely visible lighter longitudinal ribs;
- covered with many tubercles with short spines.
According to summer residents, it is these "prickly" cucumbers that are ideal for harvesting. With regard to Courage, this is true, the main thing is to remove the cucumbers on time and not let them outgrow. They have a juicy, tender pulp, crunchy and not bitter, with a small core and a few small seeds. Moreover, after removal, the fruits can still lie quietly for up to 10 days, without losing their taste.
