If the family has children, then a swing in the country is simply necessary. Making a summer cottage swing with your own hands is quite simple, you only need desire and time. As well as carpentry tools and materials in the required quantity.

Types of swing for giving

Many people ask themselves the question: how to make a swing in the country? First of all, you need to decide what type of swing you need. And after that, you should start planning your actions. Today, the following varieties are most common and also easy to manufacture:

• freestanding;
• suspended.

Hanging swings can be of various shapes. They can also be made from various materials. Their main feature is that they are suspended from a tree or other structure located at a sufficient height.

Free-standing swing works on the same principle as conventional hanging ones. But they differ in the presence of a specially designed structure for hanging the seat itself.

• boards (thickness - 20 mm, length - 500 mm, width - 100 mm);
• bars (width - 50 × 50 mm);

The swing chair will be made of boards and beams directly. The bars will be required when assembling the frame, the boards will act as a seat, armrests. Wooden pillars will be needed as a suspended structure. Four of them will be fastened in such a way that the letter "X" is formed.

• circular or ordinary saw;
• grinder, plane;
• hammer;
• drill.

All of these can usually be found in any garage. This minimal set of tools will be quite enough to build a summer cottage swing for children with your own hands.

Seat making

When making a summer cottage swing with your own hands, you must always start doing this with the assembly of the seat frame and its subsequent upholstery with boards. There is nothing difficult in this, it is only important to correctly observe the angles between the individual bars - they should all be equal to 90⁰... This will allow the structure to be stable.

If the seat is long enough, then the rectangle obtained as a result of drilling the bars must be reinforced with a crossbar or even two. It is possible to connect individual parts both with the help of long nails, and with the help of bolts-nuts with washers. The use of the latter is somewhat more laborious, since it is necessary to drill holes, and then insert bolts into them. But such a fastener is optimal, as it allows you to achieve maximum strength.

When the frame is ready, it is necessary to upholster it with wooden boards.Nails and self-tapping screws can be used as fasteners, since the minimum load will fall on the boards. You should also pay special attention to the armrests - they should be fixed as firmly as possible, since the harness will subsequently be attached to them.

Swing suspensions

Suspensions are no less important component of the considered design. They are the ones who make the swing swing.

For their manufacture, the following materials and items are required:

• two pieces of a long chain:
• bolts, nuts and washers of sufficient size;
• drill.

Using a drill, it is necessary to drill holes in the armrests (4 pcs.) - two in each. You can also drill one of the holes in the armrest and the other in the back. After that, bolts are threaded into the holes obtained and they attach the chains to the swing itself. Further, when installing them directly, you should adjust the length of the chains so that the seat is level. Hanging

The final stage in the manufacture of a swing for a summer residence is the assembly of the suspended structure. It is usually made from several pieces of wood or just logs.

For assembly you will need:

• logs (5 pcs.);
• long nails, bolts, screws;
• carbines (2 pcs.).

When everything is ready, it is necessary to connect the logs in pairs cross to cross so that the crossing point is at a sufficient height from the ground.

This height is the length at which the chain attached to the crossbar will not reach the ground for approximately one meter. The logs themselves should be connected as tightly as possible.

After the manufactured crosses are fastened to the crossbar, you need to dig them into the ground. This is necessary for the most durable fixation. It is advisable to first check whether the manufactured structure can withstand the weight within 150 kg - most often this value is sufficient.

In order for the swing to serve for a long time, it is necessary to cover it with an anti-corrosion compound. And also paint - this will not only make them less susceptible to moisture, but also create a presentable look.

Last but not least, the swing seat itself should be secured - this is done with the help of pre-stored carabiners.
