My parents live in a dacha, and although I love clean air, fruits and vegetables, I am a rather rare guest there. So, having come to visit my parents last year with my friend Boris, for the first time in many years, our dacha is more than 10 years old, I found barberry bushes behind the fence of our dacha. I was shocked how I had never noticed them before. It was autumn in the yard, the leaves of the trees were painted in bright colors and the barberry bushes made an unforgettable impression on me with their appearance, beauty and decorativeness ... Of course, I could not resist and picked a whole bouquet for myself and my friend. I put it in a vase at home and probably admired this beauty until the New Year, then the leaves began to dry up and the berries, too, had to be collected in a jar. And a friend immediately put it in a bag and in the refrigerator, the berries remained fresh even longer. For the first time in my life, I cooked and ate pilaf with barberry and drank tea with the addition of barberry. So I think that this plant is worth taking a closer look at, perhaps it is not easy to reproduce, but I can definitely say that it is absolutely unpretentious. In our case, it grows almost directly in the planting, among the thickets of other bushes and trees. And it certainly can become a great hedge and a healthy spice for your dishes.
