What does the money tree love?
In order for the fat woman, as the flower is also called, to feel comfortable in room conditions, it is important to take care of such moments:
- Lighting... The plant is demanding on light and, with a lack of it, begins to stretch, but direct rays are dangerous for succulent leaves. The best tree will be on the southeast side of the house.
- Temperature... Although the flower came to us from the African expanses, it can survive the heat only in the summer, and even then not higher than 25 degrees Celsius, but in winter such degrees are destructive for him. The maximum temperature in winter in the room where the flowerpot stands is not more than 17, but not less than 14 degrees Celsius.
- Air humidity... This parameter for the money tree is not so important, provided that it is constant, but sharp drops are categorically contraindicated. In winter, when the heating is on, you can spray or wipe the foliage.
In the summer, the flower can be taken out into the garden, but not under direct rays - the fat woman loves fresh air.
Soil and pot
Since the plant's root system grows in width, and not in depth, then the dishes need to be selected for it: a wide bowl will be just right.
Short but dense roots need loose soil or they can start to rot. At the same time, the substrate should be heavy enough, especially in an adult specimen, so that the tree does not fall out of the flowerpot under its own weight. - 1 part of deciduous land, humus and sand;
- 4 pieces of turf land.
The fat woman grows slowly, so it is often not worth disturbing the bush for transplantation. It is enough to transfer it to a larger container every three years with the addition of fresh soil.
Watering and fertilizing mode
Like all succulents, the money tree tolerates moisture deficit better than excess moisture. In spring and summer, when the bush is actively growing, it is necessary to water it abundantly once a week, but with the onset of autumn and during winter - and even less often, once every three weeks.
The bush does not particularly need additional feeding, the mineral complex is applied only twice a year.
Crown formation
The flower is called the money tree for a reason, since it itself takes shape over time wood, but in order for the crown to be neat, it is better to control its growth.
