She transplanted, nursed and cherished, and now he came to life again. But we went to the sea for two weeks with our family, and upon returning I saw that the lower leaves had already fallen off. The grandmother watered the flowers, everyone is alive and well, except for the stromant. What could be the reason and how to save it?

It is difficult to find a worthy rival among indoor plants for the beautiful stromant. Its original leaves will delight you with a noble shine and variegated color. However, it sometimes happens that the leaves of the stromant dry and the bush loses its decorative effect. Dry spots on gorgeous foliage are immediately noticeable, in addition, this most often leads to the complete dying off of the plates. It is not enough to notice in a timely manner that something is wrong with the flower. It is also necessary to establish why this is happening and to choose the right way of salvation.

If the stromante is already several years old and only the lower leaves have begun to dry out, this is normal. Old leaves die off over time. But when drying out touches the entire deciduous cap, one must look for the cause.

Stromant's leaves are drying up - possible causes of the problem

In general, this culture is not particularly capricious, moreover, it rarely gets sick, having good resistance to fungi and infections. By providing it with warmth, moisture and diffused light, you can grow a lush, beautiful bush. But any mistakes in care or a change in conditions of detention immediately affect the condition of the sheet plate. Like other plants, it serves as a kind of indicator showing whether the flower is healthy or lacking in something.

Most often, the stromant begins to dry out as a result:

• lack or excess of lighting;
• low room temperature;
• lack of moisture, both in the ground and in the air;
• "Overfeeding" with fertilizers;
• no transplant.

How lighting and temperature affect the state of the leaves

Given the variegated color, the stromante needs good lighting, otherwise the color will lose its saturation. The leaves first turn pale, then stretch and dry out. However, direct sunlight is contraindicated for the bush. They burn ugly spots on the plate, while the sheet will no longer recover.

The ideal place for a stromant is the west or east window. On the south, it will have too much light and will need to be shaded. On the northern windowsill, it is dark for her and the bush will not survive without supplementary lighting.

Stromanta loves warmth and does not tolerate sudden fluctuations in temperature values. She will surely react to this with dry spots on the foliage. And when the temperature drops below 18 - 15 °, the heat will die altogether.

Humidity requirements

Not surprisingly, the most lush bushes grow in florarium, because stromant is very fond of moisture. The soil in the pot should not be allowed to dry out, therefore it should be watered regularly, especially in summer. In winter, if the room is cool, watering will be a little less frequent. It is worth taking care of the high humidity of the air, often spraying the flower. During the heating season, you can even put the pot on a pallet with wet moss or pebbles. In dry air, the tips of the leaves will be the first to react - they will dry out.

Top dressing and transplanting

The stromant is growing fast enough and needs a transplant every year. It is enough to replant adult specimens at least every 3 years.If this is not done, the soil will be compressed and water will not flow well to the roots. As a result, the bush will begin to dry out.

But if the foliage first changed color and acquired a brownish tint, there is an excess of fertilizers. It is easy to "burn" the leaves by exceeding the dosage or by too frequent feeding.
