Homemade incubator for chicken eggs from the microwave

microwave incubator An incubator for breeding your own poultry can be made independently. For small amounts of eggs, use a homemade microwave construction. Up to 13 chicken eggs are placed in such an incubator.

A microwave incubator is a good alternative to a factory incubator. In addition, the small capacity incubator is ideal for laying hens. It is not practical to use a large setter station to hatch small numbers of eggs.

Incubation station device

To assemble the incubator you need:

  • remove the side cover of the microwave;
  • dismantle the irradiating element;
  • place a plastic plate on the rotating tray of the microwave oven.
  • mount two incandescent lamps in the microwave oven lid;
  • Place a container for water on the back of the microwave oven.

Egg flip will be carried out using the microwave motor. In order for the plastic tray not to rotate, but to move in a straight line, two guides are screwed to the walls of the microwave oven. They can be made from metal corners.

Instead of the irradiation element, a water container is installed on the back wall of the microwave oven. A hole is drilled in the microwave cover for a corrugated pipe through which water can be poured into the container.

Holes for knitting needles are drilled in the side walls of the microwave. Ceramic tiles are installed on them so that the light and heat from incandescent lamps are scattered throughout the entire area.

If you do not install such a tile, then the light from the lamps will directly hit the chicken eggs. This will cause them to heat up unevenly, and fewer chicks will hatch. Ceramic tiles serve as a heater.

Instead of the microwave timer knob, a manual light sensor is installed, to which two 60-watt lamps are connected. The disadvantage of this design is that fans will have to be connected to the dimmer.

If your microwave does not have a convection baking function, install a computer cooler in the microwave to ensure air circulation.

Laying eggs

A metal mesh with a mesh size of approximately 2X2 cm is placed on a plastic pallet. The pallet is placed on a metal needle. The design drawback is that eggs placed in the outermost cells will sag during the movement of the pan.
