This species tolerates low temperatures quite well. In the southern regions, they do not shelter him at all for the winter. The seedlings are quite capricious, so very few people are taken to breed this variety. With proper care, the bushes look beautiful not only along the curbs, but also on the alpine slides. They are also decorated with balconies, grown in hanging baskets, boxes.
There are many domestic and foreign varieties of lobelia, but the most popular of them are:
- Cascade Mixed. This is a mix of ampelous varieties with up to 30 cm long shoots hanging down. The flowers are light pink, snow-white, blue, violet.
- Kaiser Wilhelm. The buds of this variety are indigo in color. They grow no more than 1.5 cm in diameter.The bush is shaped like a ball, it is compact, up to 12 cm tall.
- Sapphire. Another variety with vibrant blue flowers adorned with a white dot on the lower lip. The plant has long shoots up to 35 cm.
- Miss Clebran. The flower forms small bushes, not exceeding 10-12 cm in height, covered with sky-blue flowers.
- A string of pearls. The bush of this variety is small in size with flowers of various shades. The mature plant resembles a soft, round pillow.
- Rosamund. Low grade up to 12 cm tall. The flowers are small, crimson in color.
- Schneebal. The bush can grow from 12 to 15 cm in height. The buds are white, small. The diameter of the flowers does not exceed 1.5 cm. The variety is distinguished by very branchy stems.
- White Lady. Lobelia White Lady is distinguished by snow-white flowers up to 1.5 cm in diameter. The bush is very dense, highly branched, reaches about 15 cm in height.
