Chrysanthemum Bacardi - the queen of bouquets

I just love chrysanthemums, I grow them both in flower beds and in pots on windowsills. There are many varieties in my collection. However, I recently heard about a new variety - Bacardi chrysanthemum. Please tell us about the Bacardi chrysanthemum variety.

Chrysanthemum Bacardi belongs to bush one-flowered chrysanthemums. The variety is young, bred in 2004. Due to its characteristics, it is often used in bouquet arrangements with other flowers. Bacardi looks no less beautiful in splendid isolation, because the structure of the inflorescences allows you to paint them in different colors with special paints or apply sparkles. What is so special about this variety that it attracts so much attention to itself?

Description of the variety

As already noted, this chrysanthemum grows as a bush. Its stem is very elastic, it retains this property when pruning. When blooming, Bacardi forms beautiful flowers, the color of which can be:

  • snow white with a green center;
  • pinkish;
  • cream color (Bacardi Cream);
  • red (Bacardi Bordeaux);
  • bright yellow (Bacardi Sani variety).

The flowers are similar to chamomile, not very large - 6.5 cm in diameter, have a yellow or green core 1.5 cm in diameter.

Chrysanthemum Bacardi after cutting stands for a long time in a bouquet, keeping its freshness.

A beautiful "bouquet in a pot" can also be grown at home, providing the chrysanthemum with the necessary conditions.

What chrysanthemum likes and dislikes

Chrysanthemum Bacardi, like its relatives of other varieties, loves sunny places and good watering. At the same time, the plant does not tolerate excess moisture, since the root system begins to rot from this. Also, a lack of lighting negatively affects the growth of a flower - the bush becomes elongated and may stop in bloom. The comfortable temperature for chrysanthemums is around 18 degrees Celsius.

Chrysanthemum grows well in nutritious soil. You can purchase it from a flower shop or make your own. To do this, mix 2 parts of sod land and one part of sand, humus and leafy earth.

The plant responds well to feeding with chicken droppings. But it should be applied carefully so as not to overdo it - the acidity of the soil increases from an excess of fertilizer, and the chrysanthemum does not like this. Do not forget about regular loosening of the soil after watering to facilitate air access to the root system.

A young bush needs a transplant every year, an adult chrysanthemum needs to be transplanted every two years.

When transplanting, you need to completely change the soil. The growing chrysanthemum also needs to change the pot annually, while the new flowerpot should be 2 cm larger than the previous one. The young flower is regularly pinched to form a bush and abundant flowering.

    I bought this miracle in Dixie today - three branches for 159 rubles. Brought home, unpacked, in a vase there was a whole bush - indescribable beauty! If they also stand like ordinary chrysanthemums - two weeks, generally cool.
