3. The last layer will be large branches - they will hold back the snow.

First of all, when the snow melts, you should remove the top layer - large branches. You can also remove the spruce branches or the material with which the mulched beds were covered. But it is better to leave the mulch itself for now, just removing its top layer. The warm spring breeze quickly dries up the soil, and the mulch will retain precious moisture.
