Interesting varieties of abutilon
Some of the most beautiful varieties of abutilon are hybrid varieties obtained by crossing different types of flowers. It is among the hybrids that the most interesting colors of inflorescences occur, even the shape of such plants may differ from the parent varieties.
Among the variety of colors and paints indoor abutilone the following varieties can be noted:
- Vesta;
- Alisha;
- Harlequin.
Abutilon Vesta
The bush is more like a compact tree with dark green "maple" leaves, the length of which is about 6 cm. Its height does not exceed 30 cm, it grows rather slowly - a maximum of 15 cm per year, but it lays side shoots on its own, thanks to which it absolutely does not need in pruning.
The hybrid can grow not only in indoor conditions, but also in the open field, subject to a warm winter (in the southern regions). It can withstand short-term frosts up to 5 degrees below zero.
From the moment of planting, it blooms very quickly - in just two months you can see the first large cream-colored inflorescences with delicate pink veins. Blooms all year round, with bouquets.
It is noteworthy that the flowers of the hybrid during the formation of buds are orange, when they fully open, they are creamy, and with the end of flowering, the inflorescences themselves turn pale, but the veins on them darken and become lilac.
Vesta is a type of abutilon that is very fond of the sun and does not require much attention. Even a short-term drought is nothing to him.
Abutilon Alisha
A beautiful lush bush with large flowers that are even larger than its leaves. It branches very well even without additional feeding and pruning.
It should be noted that inflorescences on last year's shoots are slightly smaller than on young branches. The flowers themselves are pink, and darker, crimson veins appear on the petals.
Abutilon Harlequin
The height of an adult plant can reach up to 1 m. It develops into a fluffy bush with large green leaves. Branches well by itself, without pinching.
It blooms with drooping bells that hang on long pedicels and are located in large numbers on the shoots. Two inflorescences of a soft peach color emerge from one sinus, while inside the bell there is a yellow center. There are so many inflorescences that they often outweigh the bush itself and the plant needs to be supported so that it does not fall and break.
