Our vast country is rich in forests, and you can always find tasty and healthy mushrooms under their green crowns. But their greatest diversity grows precisely in the Kaliningrad Territories, with their warm climate, many reserves, rich forests and steppes. If possible, you should definitely go to pick mushrooms in the Kaliningrad region, photos and descriptions of which will be familiar to many. Almost all species known to us grow here, from porcini mushrooms and chanterelles, to boletus, boletus and greenfinches.
The mushroom season begins in late spring, in April. Most of the mushrooms grow in summer, but there are some that can be picked in October.

Most often in the local area you can find the following edible species:
- Porcini. The leg is thick, in the form of a barrel, light, with a mesh pattern, expanding downward. The hat is large, brown.
- Boletus. The stem is long and thick, light, but with scales, the cap is orange.
- Boletus. The stem is cylindrical, grayish due to the multitude of small scales, the cap is brown.
- Ryzhiki. The stem is short, hollow, the cap is orange, concave inward in the center, with darker rings.
- Chanterelles. The thin stem gradually grows into a funnel-shaped plate cap with wavy edges. The color is yellow or orange.
- Mushrooms with white or black caps.
- Honey mushrooms. Small mushrooms on thin legs with a skirt and small brownish caps.
- Polish mushroom with a thick stem and a large wide brown cap. When cut, the flesh turns blue.
- Butterlets with slippery brownish caps on short, strong legs.
- Russula with a white stem and a funnel-shaped cap. Its color depends on the species and can be either greenish or red.
In addition to edible ones, there are many poisonous mushrooms growing in these parts. When collecting, you should carefully look and avoid amanitas, pale toadstool, pigs, gall and satanic mushrooms, false champignons.
