A snow-white beauty for your home and garden Bacopa Snowtopia

Bacopa Snowtopia In summer, one cannot look at the balconies of amateur florists without admiration: petunias, pelargonium and other flowers turn them into a fairy tale. Of the ampelous plants, Snowtopia's bacopa has been increasingly used lately. Curvaceous forms, branched lashes and just a huge number of white buds make it a major attraction. What is a plant and how to grow it?

Description of the plant

Snowtopia is a very beautiful hybrid variety of ampelous bacopa. It grows in the form of a very branched bush with long thin shoots. They are densely decorated with small ovoid olive leaves with a wavy-toothed edge. But the main advantage of the variety is flowering. It is abundant and long lasting, starting with the first steady heat and continuing until frost. There are so many snow-white inflorescences with bright yellow stamens inside that the foliage is almost invisible. The flowers themselves are small, no more than 2 cm in diameter, tied by the piece.

During flowering, the bush turns into a white ball. If the bacopa grows in the soil, it covers the ground with a flower carpet in a radius of more than 0.5 m. In this case, the twigs take root quickly.

Bacopa Snowtopia - cultivation features

This type of bacopa is characterized by increased branching. She actively builds up lateral shoots and stretches branches, so shaping is indispensable. In length, the stems can reach 60 cm, and if the bacopa is not cut off, the bush will be branched, but liquid. To get a fluffy hat, you need to start forming at the seedling stage, pinching the tops. In the future, as it grows, it is necessary to periodically shorten branches that are too extended. Then Snowtopia will actively release side stems, and the bush will be thick.

The cut branches can be used as cuttings for flower propagation.

Thus, Bacopa care consists of three important procedures:

  • bush formation;
  • regular watering;
  • dressing no more than 2 times a month during the growing season with a mineral complex.

Bacopa Snowtopia is a versatile flower. She feels great in a pot on a windowsill, in containers on the balcony and in the open field. The only thing is that it is better to plant a plant in the garden in partial shade, where the soil does not dry out so quickly. Bacopa loves moisture, and in the bright sun it will dry out, grow poorly and bloom. Since the plant is not able to winter at low temperatures, it is grown as an annual. Although the bush usually lives for about 1.5 years. By the fall, he begins to retire, and if you take the bacopa indoors, by the spring it will give new shoots. New plants are already being grown from them.
